Jen and Justin’s beautiful Novelty Hill wedding was a summer flower lover’s dream come true. Roses, cosmos, dahlias, astrantia, oregano, artemisia and so many more textures were used in ombré fashion to create truly stunning designs.

A Romantic Novelty Hill Wedding

Jen and Justin celebrated their wedding on July 31, 2021 at the lovely grounds of Januik-Novelty Hill Winery in Woodinville. It was a balmy, warm summer day, perfect for an outdoor ceremony and romantic reception with their close friends and family.

We loved working with Jen on her color palette and designs. She envisioned lush, local garden flowers in tones of neutral, cream, mauvy pinks, and deep burgundy mixed with textured greenery. We had the idea to create designs in an ombré fashion. So we grouped each color together and gradually blended them from one color to the next. The outcome was so pretty!

A Stunning Bridal Bouquet

We just loved how Jen’s bridal bouquet turned out – what do you think? We used blush roses, white dahlias, white cosmos, oregano herbs, astrantia, eucalyptus greens, clematis vines, and other local summer filler flowers to create an uber-romantic bouquet. For the bride’s maids wearing long dresses in muted grey and blush we designed smaller bouquets using just cream flowers mixed with garden greens.

A Novelty Hill Wedding Ceremony

For their wedding ceremony in the outdoor garden we created a greenery and floral covered round arch. We used smilax vines, lots of roses, stock, and dahlias for a more whimsical wedding backdrop. And we lined the aisle with lanterns, decorated each aisle chair with greenery, and decorated the aisle entrance barrels with large arrangements featuring tall delphinium, roses, dahlias, cosmos, snapdragon, and trailing greenery vines.

The Romantic Winery Wedding Reception

We loved the romantic vibe of Jen and Justin’s wedding reception in the ballroom. The blush mauve velvet linens, the elegant silver Chameleon chairs, the greenery in the ceiling, many many candles, and beautiful floral centerpieces in ombré style in shades from ivory to burgundy made such a stunning setting for their wedding guests.

A Few Thoughts on Ceiling Decor

Jen and Justin wanted to add some more natural greenery to the reception space. So we suggested the addition of greenery to the ceiling and draped long vines into the rafters. Not only did it add a beautiful garden feel to the space but it tied in with the sweetheart backdrop and the vines on the dessert table. In general, ceiling greenery is a lovely decor detail enhancing the overall look of your event space, so please ask us for details.

The Romantic Seattle Outdoor Wedding of Katie and Eddie

Bride and groom in front of their large floral ceremony backdrop for their Seattle outdoor wedding

Katie and Eddie celebrated their Seattle outdoor wedding in July of 2021. Due to the pandemic they were one of our couples who chose to reschedule their wedding date from the summer of 2020 to July of 2021. So trying to keep pandemic risks at a minimum, for their July 2021 wedding date they greatly reduced their guest count and moved their wedding completely outdoors. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner reception took place on the outside patio at the Hyatt Regency South Lake Washington and what a stunning affair it was!

Summer Flowers for a Summer Wedding

We fell in love with the color palette and design style as soon as we saw the couple’s inspiration board: grand arrangements of blush roses, dahlias, and ranunculus with tall orange eremurus, blue and white delphinium, rich smoke bush foliage, paired with lots of textured garden greenery and elements. Swoon!

For her bouquet, Katie wanted to go large with trailing elements. We designed a romantic, hand-tied bouquet featuring mainly roses and dahlias and trailing jasmine and long-stemmed astilbe added texture and movement.

For the ceremony we created grand arrangements of various sizes placed into large brown urns. For a staggered look we placed two of those tall urns on top of tall brown pedestals. These urns were overflowing with an abundance of colorful, mostly local garden flowers: dahlias in all sizes and many shades of blush, orange, and coral. Tall blue delphinium, red amaranthus, and various colored, textured greens. This created a dramatic and super-pretty backdrop!

The Outdoor Wedding Reception

The intimate dinner reception for just 40 guests was a truly romantic and stunning summer affair. The couple chose tables draped in specialty linens, woven French country chairs, elegant glass charger plates, lots of candles, and gorgeous floral arrangements to create an atmosphere to be remembered. And tall centerpieces with lots of candles on every table assured a wow effect and the towering ceremony pieces served as gorgeous backdrop behind the head table. Just wow!

Guests enjoyed a balmy summer evening with great views of Lake Washington until late into the night.

Bailee and Andrew’s Intimate Spring Wedding in Green and White

We are so excited to share images of this uber-romantic, intimate wedding of Bailee and Andrew. They celebrated their wedding day with only closest family and friends at Newcastle Golf Club this spring. This spring wedding in white and green was a feast for the eye!

A bride and groom in front of their grounded wedding arch with white and green flowers, with bride holding a posy of Lily of the Valley flowers

A Romantic Spring Wedding

Bailee and Andrew chose a very romantic spring floral theme for their wedding day at Newcastle Golf Club last spring: white roses, white ranunculus, white stock, blooming spring branches, white delphinium, mixed with lush garden greenery.

One of the floral details, that lets a florist’s heart beat a little higher: Bailee chose a small posy of fresh local Lily of the Valley for her bouquet – how sweet is that?!

The local growing season for Lily of the Valley is very short each spring and it is super special to have them available for a bride who wants to carry a small posy of those very fragrant pretty garden flowers.

An Intimate Outdoor Ceremony

The weather on this early spring day was cooperating: the small ceremony was taking place on the Prestwick Terrace overlooking the Newcastle golf course with vast views across the sounds, to Seattle, and all the way to the Olympic mountain range in the west.

To not take away from the view, we designed a semi-circle of flowers on the floor, a grounded wedding floral arch using white delphinium, white stock, white roses, and lots of garden greenery. It served as perfect floral backdrop for this intimate ceremony.

Complementing the design, the aisle entrance was decorated with 4 large arrangements propped onto tall clear lucite pedestals of various sizes. Such a pretty setting for a small, intimate wedding ceremony!

A Reception featuring Spring Flowers in White and Green

The reception for just 20 guests was held in the Muirfield Room of the Newcastle Golf Club: the one long table was luxuriously decorated with tall and low centerpieces featuring lush white spring garden flowers mixed with lush garden greenery. Lots of votive candles and taper candles inside glass chimneys completed the tablescape.

We loved all the other little details like the napkin treatment with a fresh rose and a green velvet ribbon wrap. How sweet is that?!

But the most striking feature of the day: the large bow on Bailee’s dress repeated on the beautiful wedding cake too. So gorgeous!

Ashley and Danny’s Fall Wedding on Lake Union

The worst of the Covid-19 pandemic *should* be behind us, right? What a year it’s been! The ups and downs were taxing but the future sure looks promising. We haven’t blogged as much as we hoped this past year although we have some amazing images to share of sweet, intimate celebration, beautiful outdoor weddings, and glamorous mini-monies. Today I want to start by sharing images of this absolutely unique, amazing, fun, and perfectly safe wedding from the fall of 2020: A Fun Seattle Wedding During The Pandemic!

Ashley and Danny celebrated their wedding day in September of 2020. We had fun using all the amazing fall blooms and textures the season has to offer: the bouquets included Cafe au Lait dahlias, orange ranunculus, chocolate cosmos, blush roses, local amaranthus, berries, and vibrant fall textures. Isn’t her bouquet to die for?

A Perfectly Safe Wedding During A Pandemic

Ashley and Danny celebrated their wedding day during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in the fall of 2020. But that didn’t stop them from having an awesome, very safe, socially distanced wedding. Just look at these uber-fun images: the couple and their wedding party held the ceremony on a small ferry boat – the “Fremont Avenue” – in the middle of Seattle’s Lake Union. Their guests joined them around the lake: each family on their own boat or vessel, and even on paddle boards. That is social distance taken to the next level – how amazing is that?

How To Have Fun During The Pandemic

We decorated the wedding boat with lots of greenery and fall blooms: the railings, front, and stern were dripping in smilax vines, dahlias, and roses. Little decorative elements inside and outside transformed this ferry boat into a fun, romantic wedding venue.

As ceremony backdrop the couple opted for a moon arch which we covered in greens and fall flowers as well.

Smaller, more intimate weddings like this will stay with us for a little while longer and we are here for them! As much as we love grand affairs, the small weddings have our heart! Let us know how we can help with your upcoming intimate wedding.

Pampas Grass Winter Wedding: Carly & Oliver

FORMAL EVENING PAMPAS GRASS WEDDING CEREMONY

Carly and Oliver’s formal New Years Eve wedding took place in the Garden Room at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. And what a gorgeous downtown Seattle venue they chose for their special day! For the ceremony we placed lucite pillars at different heights and added the centerpieces that would later be used for reception table centerpieces. We used both elevated and low compote arrangement styles to create an interesting and lush floral backdrop for the ceremony. The large vase arrangements were designed with hydrangea, roses, lots of greens, and of course, on-trend pampas grass for natural texture and interest.

New Year’s Eve Wedding Reception in White and Mauve

Large floral centerpieces filled with white hydrangea, roses, and greenery with pops of mauve took center stage for the reception – placed on round tables with neutral linens. We added lots of natural pampas grass for a slightly relaxed feel. Pampas grass weddings can often be ‘boho’ in nature. However we tried not to go too far in that direction for this more semi formal event. Keeping it timeless and elegant was our goal. Most importantly, to add a special New Years feel, a large holiday light chandelier hung over the dinner reception tables. As a result a cozy festive glow was achieved. By far the most eye catching element in the space. Perfect for a New Year’s Eve wedding!!
