Lake Washington Wedding

Lake Washington Wedding: Amanda and Joe’s Intimate Backyard Affair

It is always an honor to be invited to participate in a family’s intimate celebration, especially when a family invites us into their home. Amanda and Joe’s August wedding took place at Amanda’s childhood home on the shores of Lake Washington. The family welcomed our team into their private celebration so warmly and it was so much fun to help make this wedding day a treasured family memory. Amanda and Joe’s first look took place in the apple orchard – and can you imagine a more picturesque setting? Amanda’s bouquet features high summer flowers in red, burgundy and blush set off by deep greens and browns. Lush dahlias, sweet zinnias, local garden roses, amaranthus, and rudbeckia nestled in a bed of raspberry leaves, and deep blue velvet ribbons tied around the stems lent that “something blue.”

A Wedding Ceremony on the Shores of Lake Washington

The wedding ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking Lake Washington. A lush floral arc encircled the couple, filled with summer flowers: tall delphinium and amaranthus; raspberry, camelia, abelia, and ferns; large blush roses and delicate red sprays; zinnias, echinacea, cornflower, and lots of burgundy dahlias. Floral posies decorated the chairs down the aisle, attached with multi-colored ribbon streamers.

A Backyard Reception

For Amanda and Joe’s lakeside reception, large picnic blankets and pillows were set out on the lawn, mixed with low and high tables for guests to enjoy as the evening wore on and the sun set across the water. The large tree beside the patio was hung with glass orbs filled with fairy lights and roses. A buffet was set out on an antique cart, and guests drank from azure blue goblets (all provided by Vintage Ambiance!). Large lanterns and hurricane candles lined the dock, lighting the way for guests who wanted to take a stroll along the water. At the end of the evening’s celebration, family and friends gave Amanda and Joe a sparkling send off. Congratulations to this lovely couple!!
